Panthers Turn Back San Angelo, 7-5
|
The San Angelo Mustangs got a superb performance from third baseman Boyd Adler, but the Charleston Panthers still won the game, 7-5. Adler was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win was credited to Tim Gresham in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Garth Bankston took the loss. Earning his 5th save for Charleston was Ronnie Kimble.
Seung-gwan Leem aided the Charleston cause with a bases-clearing double in the top of the first. For the game, the right fielder went 1-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Leem, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
Losses have been rare for the Mustangs, who are now 15-6.
