Jedi Knights Bang Out 7-3 Win Versus Coney Island
|
New Orleans starter Juan Ayala had a strong outing against the Coney Island Cyclones at The Republic. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 7-3 win. Ayala picked up the win for New Orleans, going 5.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 1 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. José Martínez earned save number 2.
Shinji Kakuta, who is tied for 6th in the LBL in total bases with 39, aided the New Orleans cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the third baseman was 2-2 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"It was a solid team effort," said Kakuta after the game.
The Jedi Knights keep rolling, raising their record to 12-7.
