Sting Come Back Late to Clip Frosties
Barrow got a terrific game from shortstop Cristián Bernard. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Houston, 9-8. Bernard was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 4 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Houston reliever Jesús Velásquez was credited with the win, to go to 2-1. Chris Webb took the loss for Barrow. Picking up the save was Jeff Van Wormer, his 5th.

Jamie Milligan aided the Houston cause with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Milligan said after the game.

The Frosties fall to 8-11 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2034 season.
