Saints Bang Out 7-4 Win Versus Winfield
|
The St. Paul Saints racked up a win at Saints Ballpark, bumping off the Winfield Warriors, 7-4. Danny Mendez, who started for St. Paul, pitched effectively for his team. The Warriors drop to 7-12 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2034 season.
The Saints got a big at-bat from left fielder Phil Evans. For the game, Evans was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave St. Paul a 4-1 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said St. Paul manager Alonso Rosas.
