Corpus Helps Hornets Beat Pelicans
|
With center fielder Nick Corpus leading the charge, the Bethesda Hornets defeated the St. Petersburg Pelicans, 13-4, at Hornets Field. Corpus, who is tied for 8th in the DML in RBI with 11, was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. The Pelicans fall to 7-12 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2034 season.
Corpus had a big at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the third inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Hornets went on to win.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Corpus, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
