Jones Helps Sting Beat Blizzard
|
The Houston Sting topped the Taos Blizzard by the score of 7-2, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Gabe Jones. Jones went 3-4 with a home run, a triple, a double, and a walk, while scoring 4 times and driving in 2 for the Sting. The win was Bob Wood's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Fidel Castro took the loss for Taos. Houston is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 6th in 19 games.
Jones had a key at-bat for Houston early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and gave Houston an early 1-0 lead.
"Feels good to get the job done," Jones said after the game.
