|
Spirited fans at Hornets Field greeted the Bethesda Hornets for their clash with the St. Petersburg Pelicans.
Pitcher Eduardo Alaniz was sensational for the St. Petersburg Pelicans in his team's 3-0 triumph over the Bethesda Hornets. Alaniz received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Alaniz went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 0, and struck out 7. His record improves to 1-1.
Jordan Vargas, who is tied for 7th in the DML in triples with 1, aided the St. Petersburg cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Vargas said after the game.
The Hornets fall to 7-11 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2034 season.
