Knights Walk Off with Win
|
The Kingwood Knights topped the Boise Bloodhounds by the score of 6-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to shortstop Mario Moreno. Moreno was 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles for the Knights on the day. Boise, at 4-10, is off to a poor start in 2034.
The Knights were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when center fielder John Carruthers turned a first pitch cutter from Justin Bolling into a 2-run home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Kingwood a thrilling 6-5 win.
"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Carruthers said.
