Dancin' Outlaws Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
West Virginia and Bel Air met at Philip Banks Field in front of a lively crowd.
The West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws topped the Bel Air Princes by the score of 6-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman José Hinojosa. Hinojosa was 4-4 with 4 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Dancin' Outlaws on the day. Ricky Lerma got the win, improving to 2-0. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 4.
The Dancin' Outlaws got a big at-bat from first baseman Marcos Rodríguez. For the game, Rodríguez was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave West Virginia a 3-0 lead.
"I felt we were ready to go," said West Virginia manager Keith Irwin. "Our pregame was pretty good."
