Knights, Carruthers Pin Bad Loss on Saints
|
Getting a good performance from center fielder John Carruthers, the Kingwood Knights defeated the St. Paul Saints, 10-2. Carruthers went 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Knights. The Saints fall to 5-8 and continue to sputter in the early going.
Carruthers had a key at-bat for Kingwood early in the game. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and gave Kingwood an early 3-0 lead.
"You can't sugarcoat this one," said St. Paul manager Alonso Rosas. "We got flat-out beat."
