Cyclones Walk Off with Win
|
The Coney Island Cyclones beat the Charleston Panthers, 5-4, at Coney Island Coliseum. Coney Island designated hitter Taylor Allen earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Coney Island reliever Takamasa Oki picked up the win to move to 1-1. Zach Hensler suffered the loss. The Panthers fall to 6-8 and continue their uneasy start to the 2034 season.
Devon LeBrecht was the walk-off hero for Coney Island. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cyclones catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place was rockin'," said LeBrecht.
