Roche Helps Chippewa Cruise to 11-2 Win
Chippewa left fielder Shane Roche was instrumental in his team's 11-2 win over the Okanagan Lake Monsters. Roche, who is tied for 8th in the LBL in bases on balls with 9, went 4-5 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the River Chiefs. The save was Marvin Duffy's, his 1st. Chippewa, now 11-3, is playing great baseball to start the year.

Juan Martínez aided the Chippewa cause with a 2-run single in the top of the fifth. For the game, the catcher was 3-5 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"I still think this team has room for improvement," Martínez told the Chippewa Citizen.
