Saints Lose, 11-7, at Franklin Mountains Field

The Charleston Panthers beat the St. Paul Saints, 11-7, at Franklin Mountains Field. The Panthers got a fine performance from left fielder Eiji Ouye, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Charleston reliever Ryan Hamblin picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Blake Connell shouldered the loss. The save was credited to Ronnie Kimble, his 3rd.
The Panthers got a big at-bat from right fielder Dinh-Hy Mai. For the game, Mai went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 14th hit of the season gave Charleston a 9-7 lead.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Ouye.
The Saints drop to 5-6 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2034 season.
