The Reservation was the site of a tense game between the Kingwood Knights and Chippewa River Chiefs.
The Chippewa River Chiefs defeated the Kingwood Knights, 3-2, in Lyman Bostock League action at The Reservation, with Chippewa pitcher José López named player of the game. López went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 3, and struck out 11. His record improves to 2-0.
Shane Roche aided the Chippewa cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the left fielder drove in one run.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," López said after the game.
Chippewa, now 9-3, is setting the league on fire so far.
