Tight Tilt Goes to Black Squirrels, 2-1

The Tree City Black Squirrels took Eugene pitcher Tommy Brereton's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Prefontaine Park. The final score had Tree City getting past the Emeralds, 2-1. Brereton went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 9. Sixto Árias got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 1.1 innings. At 7-4, the Black Squirrels have played well so far.
Cole Capone chipped in for Tree City with a solo home run in the top of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
