Cyclones Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Coney Island fans at Coney Island Coliseum.
Rudy Kuhn did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the St. Paul Saints from losing, 5-3, to the Coney Island Cyclones at Coney Island Coliseum. Kuhn went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Coney Island, now 4-6, is off to a slow start.
Mario Marroquín aided the Coney Island cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Cyclones manager Roger Fievet. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
