Saints Bang Out 13-8 Win Versus Coney Island
The St. Paul Saints stopped the Coney Island Cyclones, 13-8, behind an impressive performance from Phil Evans. The 21-year old third baseman made life miserable for Coney Island pitching. He was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs. Bernardo Cutino, the winner, improved to 2-0. He held the Cyclones to 5 earned runs on 5 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Aaron Burrell closed it out for his 1st save.

The Saints got a big at-bat from designated hitter Rudy Kuhn. For the game, Kuhn went 2 for 5 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 5th hit of the season gave St. Paul a 6-5 lead.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Kuhn. "And not try to do too much."

St. Paul, now 5-3, has played well in the early going.
