Lake Monsters Come Back Late, Nip Knights
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Okanagan Lake Monsters got the win.
The Lake Monsters had to overcome a fine effort from Kingwood pitcher Ruben Luna to grab a narrow 3-2 win at Stable Park. Luna went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Dusty Mast earned save number 1.
The Lake Monsters got a big at-bat from second baseman Miguel Delcueto. For the game, Delcueto went 1-4, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the eighth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 2nd hit of the season gave Okanagan a 3-2 lead.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Delcueto. "And not try to do too much."
Okanagan, now 3-5, is off to a slow start.
