Pelicans Bang Out 8-6 Win Versus West Virginia
The St. Petersburg Pelicans outlasted Arturo Ruales and the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws, 8-6. Ruales was impressive in the loss. The West Virginia designated hitter was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. The Pelicans have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 2nd win in 8 games.

St. Petersburg took a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out, catcher Dan Stoner hit a 3-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Pelicans manager Kurt Brumfield. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
