Warriors Topple Mustangs with Late Rally
|
Winfield Warriors starter Hugo Torres was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the San Angelo Mustangs, 4-3. Torres, now 2-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing 3 earned runs. Losses have been few and far between for the Mustangs, who are now 6-1.
The Warriors got a big at-bat from right fielder David Morales. For the game, Morales was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the eighth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Winfield a 4-3 lead.
"We did enough to win," said Torres.
