Dancin' Outlaws Edge Past Pelicans, 4-3
The West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws beat the St. Petersburg Pelicans, 4-3, at Billy Mathews Field. The Dancin' Outlaws got a fine performance from center fielder Salvador Ibarra, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 2 with a triple, a double, and a walk. The win was Rickey Turner's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Kelly Livingston took the loss for St. Petersburg. Every game is important, even these early ones, if the Dancin' Outlaws hope to make a postseason run.

West Virginia relied on the bat of José Hinojosa to get the win. The third baseman ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the 11th inning to put the Dancin' Outlaws ahead, 4-3. For the game, Hinojosa had 1 double and 1 triple in 6 at-bats.
