The Houston Sting racked up a win at Woodland Park, bumping off the Eugene Emeralds, 1-0. Richard Sinclair, who started for Houston, pitched effectively for his team. Jeff Van Wormer picked up the save for Houston, his 3rd of the year. Houston, now 3-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.

The Sting got a big at-bat from left fielder Jason Scroggins. For the game, Scroggins was 1-3. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 3rd hit of the season gave Houston a 1-0 lead.

Scroggins told a Houston Bulletin reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
