Saints Stymie Okanagan, Take 5-1 Win

St. Paul played host to Okanagan at the friendly confines of Saints Ballpark.
St. Paul Saints starter Danny Mendez was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Okanagan Lake Monsters, 5-1. Every game is important, even these early ones, if the Saints hope to make a postseason run.
Phil Evans helped out the St. Paul cause in the bottom of the first inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the first baseman went 3-4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"I thought we played a nice game," Evans told the St. Paul Daily News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
