Pelicans Deal Frosties Painful Loss
|
The St. Petersburg Pelicans downed the Barrow Frosties, 4-3, at Billy Mathews Field. Dan Stoner led the way, going 3-for-4 for St. Petersburg. Marlon Douglas picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Tom Best was tagged with the loss. The Pelicans, with just their 1st win in 4 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
Larry Castillo was the walk-off hero for St. Petersburg. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Pelicans second baseman hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"It feels good to get this one," Castillo told the St. Petersburg Bulletin.
