Mustangs Sneak Past Bloodhounds, 4-3
|
The Mustangs had to overcome a fine effort from Boise pitcher Jason Loer to grab a narrow 4-3 win at Grand Canyon Valley Park. Loer went 7.2 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. San Angelo, now 3-0, has played well in the early going.
Had Boyd Adler not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Adler hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Mustangs.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Adler told the San Angelo Bulletin.
