The Hornets had to overcome a good performance from Houston pitcher Kenji Wada to claim a 3-2 win at Woodland Park. Wada went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Reliever Yuujin McCool picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Jesús Velásquez took the loss. Bethesda, now 2-1, has gotten their season off to a good start.

The Hornets got a big at-bat from second baseman Nick Corpus. For the game, Corpus was 1 for 4. In the top of the eighth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 3rd hit of the season gave Bethesda a 3-2 lead.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Corpus told the Bethesda Chronicle.
