Dancin' Outlaws Hope Opening Day Win Bodes Well for Season
|
Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws were eager to watch Ricky Lerma square off against Tim Gary of the visiting Barrow Frosties. In the end, the Dancin' Outlaws won the game, 7-2, with Ricky Lerma earning player of the game honors. Orlando Guzmán recorded the save for West Virginia, his 1st of the season.
The Dancin' Outlaws got a big at-bat from right fielder Arturo Ruales. For the game, Ruales was 1 for 3 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave West Virginia a 4-2 lead.
"I really like what we did out there today," Lerma said after the game.
