Alvarado Leads Beetlecats to Win over Bullets
Benefiting from Sandy Alvarado's productive game, the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats downed the Biloxi Bullets, 14-9. Alvarado was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 6 for the Beetlecats. At 83-78, the Beetlecats find themselves in third place in the Cory Lidle League Gene Mauch Division.

Alvarado contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Buzzard's Bay in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 6-5, Alvarado took a fastball from José Vásquez and stroked the double to left-center. His 18th double of the season allowed the Beetlecats to leap in front, 8-6.

"It feels good to get this one," Alvarado told the Buzzard's Bay Bulletin.
