The Spartans had to overcome a fine effort from Fraser Valley pitcher Eric Sanford to grab a narrow 3-2 win at The Coliseum. Sanford went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The win puts the Spartans at 74-86, while the Black Bears drop to 93-67.

Ignacio Aguilar had a nice at-bat for the Spartans with two out in the bottom of the 11th. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the second baseman drew a walk, which would prove important in the Sandy Springs win.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Aguilar.
