Rams Roll to 8-3 Win Over Red Bulls
|
The Frisco Rams beat the Riverside Red Bulls, 8-3, at Red Bull Stadium. The win was largely due to the efforts of right fielder Josh Wheeler, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. The first-place Rams, at 95-63, now lead their division by 3½ games.
Todd Gladue aided the Frisco cause with a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the shortstop went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.
Wheeler said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
