The Wichita Wolverines topped the Topeka Predators, 6-2, in Roy Halladay League action at Howling Park. The player of the game was Wichita pitcher Kunio Otsuka. The first-place Wolverines, at 93-64, now lead their division by 4˝ games.

Wichita took a 3-2 lead on Francisco Enriquez's 37th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Enriquez hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Topeka pitcher Mario Michaca shaking his head.

Enriquez said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
