A nice crowd turned out to see the Santa Fe Fuego and Georgia Grays clash at The Death Star.

Santa Fe Fuego starter Juan Mendoza pitched effectively against the Georgia Grays at The Death Star. The right-hander spearheaded his team's 7-3 win. Mendoza got the win, improving to 6-5. He allowed 9 hits and walked 0 over 8.1 innings. Mendoza allowed 2 earned runs.

The Fuego got a big at-bat from catcher Luis Álvarez. For the game, Álvarez went 1-5 with a double. In the top of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 7th double of the season gave Santa Fe a 1-0 lead.

"I found a nice groove out there," said Mendoza.
