Ducks Rally For Late Win Over Spartans
|
Ducks designated hitter Taylor Allen put his stamp on his team's 5-3 win over the Sandy Springs Spartans. Allen went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Long Island in the contest. Long Island reliever Takamasa Oki picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. Juan Yarrito shouldered the loss. This win makes it 5 in a row for Long Island.
Allen had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 2-2 slider from Tony Mejía, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Ducks a 5-3 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Allen.
"I really like what we did out there today," Allen said after the game.
