Victory Pushes Cornhuskers Record to 79-77
|
With left fielder David Acosta leading the charge, the DeKalb Cornhuskers defeated the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 7-4, at The Corn Crib. Acosta was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 3 times. DeKalb reliever Ray Burns picked up the win, upping his record to 10-2. Oscar Saucedo shouldered the loss. Manny López got the save, his 22nd in 22 chances.
Marc Richards aided the DeKalb cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the second baseman went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Acosta told reporters after the game.
The Cornhuskers bumped their record to 79-77 with this latest triumph.
