Phoenix pinch hitter Danny Melo was instrumental in his team's 5-1 win over the Marysville Monarchs. Melo went 1-1 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Lights. Nobuhiko Newton got the save, his 16th in 22 chances. The Lights bumped their record to 79-74 with this latest triumph.

Jung-hyun Yoon was 1 for 4 for Phoenix. The 24-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Eddy Johnston. It was his 16th RBI of the season.
