Victory Pushes Ducks Record to 82-72
|
Wes Coren helped his team muscle past the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 7-3. In the game, the Long Island left fielder was 3-3 with a double and 2 singles. Takamasa Oki notched his 10th save in 10 chances. Long Island has a 3-game win streak, while DeKalb has lost 3 in a row.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the fourth, with the game tied, Jesus Chavez was at the plate when Long Island scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Ducks to go in front, 4-3.
"It was a solid team effort," said Chavez after the game.
