|
Shane Gross helped his team muscle past the San Antonio Storm Troopers, 7-4. In the game, the Wichita catcher was 2 for 3 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jay Retter picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 4 earned runs on 7 hits, while walking 6 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 15-7. Shu-de Tian earned his 17th save in 22 chances.
Kazuaki Kishi, who leads the RHL in triples with 13, aided the Wichita cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth. For the game, the third baseman went 1-3 with a walk.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Kishi told the Wichita News.
The first-place Wolverines, at 91-62, now lead their division by 5 games.
