Wichita got a terrific performance from pitcher Kunio Otsuka, but it wasn't enough to beat the San Antonio Storm Troopers. San Antonio won the The Clone Army contest, 4-3. Otsuka was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. The Storm Troopers bumped their record to 86-66 with this latest triumph.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when San Antonio catcher Abraham Merez, facing Seijii Matsumura, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Storm Troopers the 4-3 win.

"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Adrián Carne.
