Cornhuskers Win in Extras
Hirofumi Ishibashi had a good game, but he could not keep the Sandy Springs Spartans from falling, 9-5, to the DeKalb Cornhuskers at The Coliseum. The Sandy Springs right fielder was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 in the loss. Ronnie Kimble got credit for the win, improving to 5-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. The Cornhuskers bumped their record to 78-73 with this latest triumph.

The Cornhuskers got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Andy Wuensche. For the game, Wuensche was 1-1, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the tenth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 51st hit of the season gave DeKalb a 7-5 lead.

"We came out aggressive," said Cornhuskers manager Eduardo Varerla. "We came out swinging the bats."
