Red Bulls Clip Hawks in Tight Contest
The Riverside Red Bulls bested the Boise Hawks by a score of 6-1, with designated hitter Haruhiko Yamanaka getting the main credit. On the day, Yamanaka was 3-4 with a home run, a triple, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Red Bulls. Ed Sawyers got credit for the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.2 innings. António Torres got the save, his 7th in 7 chances.

Yamanaka had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a full count fastball from Jung-sang Lee, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Red Bulls a 4-1 lead. It was the 28th home run of the year for Yamanaka.

"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Riverside manager Will Hunt.

With the win, Riverside goes to 73-77, while the Hawks fall to 79-72.
