Victory Pushes Hackers Record to 87-63
|
Youngstown right fielder Cole Capone was sensational. He was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Silicon Valley beat the Tune-Ups, 7-6. Capone was named the player of the game despite the loss. Youngstown's current losing streak is now 4 games.
José Valéncia was one of the major contributors to the win for Silicon Valley. The light-hitting left fielder stroked a single to left in the bottom of the first inning. For the day, he was 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Valéncia told the Silicon Valley Citizen.
