The Marysville Monarchs got a sterling performance from pitcher Orlando Rivas, but the Bullets still prevailed, 3-2. Rivas was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He came in in relief and pitched to 17 batters . Doug Durham, credited with the save, is now 28 for 34 in save opportunities. The last-place Bullets improved to 55-93.

Dave Alejo aided the Biloxi cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the catcher was 1-3. He drove in 2 runs.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Alejo. "And not try to do too much."
