Colonials Stymie South Carolina, Take 4-0 Win
|
The New England Colonials got a strong performance from pitcher Mauro Rodríguez, who stymied the South Carolina offense en route to a 4-0 win at Bomber Ballpark. Rodríguez got the win, improving to 1-4. He allowed 2 hits and walked 2 over 5.2 innings. Rodríguez allowed no earned runs. The Colonials saw their win-loss record go to 19-30. At the same time, the Bombers fell to 27-20.
Donald Latulippe, who is a four-time All-Star, aided the New England cause with a run-scoring triple in the top of the third. For the game, the second baseman was 2 for 5 with a triple.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Rodríguez.
