Storm Troopers Get Road Win, 8-5
|
The San Antonio Storm Troopers defeated the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 8-5, at The Corn Crib. San Antonio third baseman Ryuzaburo Nishiyama was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times. The Storm Troopers bumped their record to 84-63 with this latest triumph.
Ernesto Andrade was 1-3 with 2 walks for San Antonio. The 22-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Francisco Flores. It was his 18th walk of the season.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Andrade. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
