Hawks Win at Pacifica, 9-6
|
The Boise Hawks topped the Pacifica Shamrocks, 9-6, with youngster Jose Macias playing a key role. Macias went 2-2 with a double and 3 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Hawks in the win. The winner was Mauro Vázquez, who threw 99 pitches over 5.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 4 hits. Jesús Ordóñez got the save, his 27th in 35 chances.
Tal-hun Kug hit a 2-run double off Jose Artola in the top of the fourth, which put the Hawks in front, 3-1. In addition to the double, Kug had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Macias told the Boise News.
The Hawks bumped their record to 77-70 with this latest triumph.
