Buzzard's Bay beat Silicon Valley at Bloomfield Road, escaping with a 7-6 win. The win in large part was due to first baseman José Guzmán, who earned player of the game honors. He was 2 for 2 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The Beetlecats now own a record of 76-69.

Late-game drama came in the bottom of the 11th inning. With no one out and the bases empty, the batter, Sandy Alvarado, hit a triple. It helped Buzzard's Bay seize the win.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Guzmán, "but we got it done."
