Riverside pitcher Masayoshi Tanaka did his part in helping his team beat the Ruidoso Osos, 6-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Tanaka, now 11-6, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 8, walking 0, and allowing 3 earned runs. The Red Bulls are now 69-76, while the Osos fall to 76-70.

Wilson Rodríguez had a big 2-run double for the Red Bulls in the bottom of the second inning. With Riverside leading 2-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a slider from Ron Andrews and stroked the double to left. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Red Bulls ahead, 4-1.

"Masayoshi was throwing strikes, locating well," said Riverside manager Will Hunt.
