Bulldogs Stymie Wichita, Take 8-1 Win
|
Spokane right-hander Ruben Fernandez made an effective start against the Wichita Wolverines at The Kennel, leading his team to a 8-1 win. Fernandez went 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 14-11. Wichita, at 86-59, has lost 4 straight.
The Bulldogs got a big at-bat from third baseman Chia-liang Li. For the game, Li went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 17th home run of the season gave Spokane a 2-0 lead.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Fernandez told the Spokane Bulletin.
