Las Vegas Loses, 9-8, Despite White Performance
|
Las Vegas first baseman Doug White was sensational. He went 3 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 4 times and driving in 3, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Maple beat the Aces, 9-8. White was named the player of the game despite the loss. Héctor Zúñiga was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 8 hits, with no walks and 3 strikeouts. The Marauders, now 27-19, have won 9 in a row.
The Marauders got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jae-hoon Park. For the game, Park went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Maple a 4-1 lead.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Park. "And not try to do too much."
