Extra-Inning Win by Rats over Beetlecats
Rock River beat Buzzard's Bay at The Rat Hole, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Jeff Stephens, who earned player of the game honors. Rock River reliever An-te-hai Xin picked up the win, upping his record to 8-3. Aaron Valenti shouldered the loss. The Rats bumped their record to 85-55 with this latest triumph.

The Rats got a big at-bat from designated hitter Ben Eisner. For the game, Eisner went 2 for 5 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the tenth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 36th hit of the season gave Rock River a 5-4 lead.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Stephens.
